![]() BERR: Tidal power standard The Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) has published a new standard for measuring and analysing the performance of tidal power devices. Titled "Assessment of Performance for Tidal Energy Conversion Systems", it is the first of a series of 14 guidance documents set to be published in the UK aiming to standardise the developing marine renewable energy industry. Read the full Guidence Notes here (pdf) HM Treasury Introduction to the EC Procurement Rules This is one of a series of guidances issued by CUP on purchasing and supply procedures and practices. Departments should consider incorporating it into their purchasing and supply manuals. References to “the EC rules” are to the EEC Treaty, the EC procurement directives as implemented in UK legislation, rulings of the European Court of Justice and other relevant EC law. Departments can obtain advice and guidance on the EC rules from Procurement Policy (PP) Division, HM Treasury. Read the full Guidance Notes here (pdf) London Energy Partnership Making ESCOs Work - Guidance and Advice on Setting Up & Delivering an ESCO This Report has been prepared by Brodies LLP for The London Energy Partnership (LEP). The objective of the Report is to provide guidance and advice on setting up and delivery an energy services company (ESCO) in London, with specific reference to the four pilot Energy Action Areas (EAAs). Input into certain aspects of this Report and a review of drafts of it has been provided by SEA/Renue. Improvement of energy efficiency in housing is also a central plank of the Strategy as is increasing the contribution of renewable energy. In particular, CHP is noted as an efficient delivery mechanism and the Strategy contains the aim of doubling London's CHP capacity by 2010 Read the full Guidance Notes here (pdf)
